We are proud to offer the virtual events option, making Schools Half Marathon accessible to literally everyone.
Schools Half Marathon is not just for school children and pupils – we have got a limited number of Schools Half Marathon medals available this year for anyone, of any age, who wants to complete their own cumulative half marathon this summer and support Schools Half Marathon with every step.
The virtual events work like our live events, the only difference being that you run all the cumulative miles, including the last 1.1, at a time and place that suits you (so 12 x 1 mile plus the last 1.1):
- Sign up now to your Schools Half Marathon 2019 Virtual Challenge
- You will receive an achievement chart in the post where you can log your miles, as well as a wristband. We recommend that you save the wristband as an award for yourself or your child when reaching the halfway point of the challenge
- Once the full 13.1 miles have been completed you need to send in proof of completion , and then a medal and t-shirt will be sent out to you. We won’t be there to put the medal around your neck on the finish line, but the medal will come with huge congratulations and a round of applause from everyone at UK Run Events!
The Schools Half Marathon Virtual Challenge is open to everyone, and £5 from your entry goes directly into the making a difference and giving back programme – there really is no excuse not to get everyone signed up, get the miles in and earn your very own medal!
This is also the perfect option for schools who do not have a live event in the surrounding area at the moment (although we keep expanding, make sure you keep checking our event map for all the latest locations!), and who want to organise their own mini event for pupils whilst being part of the nationwide Schools Running Movement.
